Elite Story – Brett’s Passion
In 2017, Brett found an article on Kathlenn Hazelgrove, founder of Crushers Club (http://voyagechicago.com/interview/meet-sally-hazelgrove-crushers-club-englewood-south-side/) and wanted to help the cause. At that time, he collected over $500.00 in boxing gear and took it down to the Crushers. The boys particularly liked the reflex boxing hats. It was a great to hang out with the kids and watch them spar for a couple hours.

In 2012, Crushers Club was founded by Sally Hazelgrove as the strongest alternative to gangs, by providing boys and young men from Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood with the support and skills needed to restore their lives and rebuild their community. Today our WorkForce employment and job training initiative, boxing and music programs, peer mentoring, and self-development classes are the core platforms of the Club.
